Women has right to be free from violence, harassment, and discrimination…
The importance of protecting women right is recognised in the UN’s sustainable development goals (SGDS)
The measures should be taken as follows:
- Like shifting a bus stop by few meters to a safer location, installing street lights in a isolated areas.
- Creating a clean, functional, public toilets at regular interval.
- Be non-apologetic about female only safe spaces.
A total of 257 cases are filed against the criminals for the women harassment in 1st 10 days of the lockdown. The data has been recorded for the duration between 23 march to 10th April
- 77 cases were registered under the right to live with dignity.
- 69 cases have been registered protection of women against domestic violence
- 16 cases of police apathy against women have also come to light, while 20 cases haven’t been categorized yet.
