ಮಾನವ ಕುಲಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಜ್ಞನಾಗಿ ಬಹುದೊಡ್ಡ ಹೆಸರು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದ ಸರ್‌ ಜೇಮ್ಸ್‌ ಜಾರ್ಜ್‌ ಫ್ರೇಜರ್ ಇಂಗ್ಲೆಂಡ್‌ ದೇಶದವನು. ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ್ದು ಸ್ಕಾಟ್‌ಲೆಂಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ. ಬುದ್ಧಿಸಾಧನೆಗಳಿಂದ ಅಸಾಧಾರಣ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿತ್ವ ಗಳಿಸಿದ್ದು ಇಂಗ್ಲೆಂಡಿನಲ್ಲಿ. ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ರಂಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಮಾನವ ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಜ್ಞನೆಂದೇ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧನಾದವನು. ಆದರೂ ಜಾನಪದ ಮತ್ತು ಮಾನವಕುಲಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಗಳಿಗೂ ತನ್ನ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ವಿಸ್ತರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡವನು.
