Smart city
The Smart Cities Mission requires smart people. Citizen involvement and participation is more important. Smart people involve themselves in the definition of the Smart City, decisions on deploying Smart Solutions, implementing reforms, doing more with less and oversight during implementing and designing post-project structures in order to make the Smart City developments sustainable. Create “WALK TO WORK CONCEPT” to reduce congestion, air pollution and resource depletion, promote interactions and ensure security. The road network should be created or refurbished not only for vehicles and public transport, but also for pedestrians and cyclists, and necessary administrative services are offered within walking or cycling distance. Preserving and developing open spaces – parks, playgrounds, and recreational spaces in order to enhance the quality of life of citizens, reduce the urban heat effects in Areas and generally promote eco-balance. The streets should be well designed and offer people choice to sit where ever they want. The street should be planted with lots of edible landscape instead of crotons or simply flower, as it gives free fruit to people, birds and animals. Nobody in the city will sleep empty stomach. Energy efficient techniques should be used to plan, execute and maintain the smart cities. Solar street lighting can be used, wind turbines can be used to generate the electricity. Rain water should be harvested for the entire city so that there is never scarcity of water in future. Grass Crete pavers should be used for footpaths to percolate the rain water inside it to recharge the water table ratio. The land whatever is excavated for the construction that same soil should be used elsewhere for plantation and not waste the top soil. By using energy efficient and sustainable design we can happy live in a well-designed smart city. Living in the smart city will be like living within the resources of planet without disturbing it now or in the future.
