Dreams
This early work by Jerome K. Jerome was originally published in the early 20th century and we are now republishing it with a brand new introductory biography. 'Dreams' is a short essay on dreams by this humorous author. Jerome Klapka Jerome was born in Walsall, England in 1859. Both his parents died while he was in his early teens, and he was forced to quit school to support himself. In 1889, Jerome published his most successful and best-remembered work, 'Three Men in a Boat'. Featuring himself and two of his friends encountering humorous situations while floating down the Thames in a small boat, the book was an instant success, and has never been out of print. In fact, its popularity was such that the number of registered Thames boats went up fifty percent in the year following its publication.

Equality (Webster’s Korean Thesaurus Edition)

'Essays and Lectures' is an important collection of Wilde's essays, lectures, reviews, letters, and short prose pieces. Oscar Wilde was born in Dublin in 1854. He studied at Trinity College, Dublin, and subsequently won a scholarship to Magdalen College, Oxford, where he was heavily influenced by John Ruskin and Walter Pate. In 1892, Wilde gained commercial and critical success with 'Lady Windermere's Fan', and followed it with the comedy 'A Woman of No Importance' (1893) and 'An Ideal Husband' (1895). Next to arrive was Wilde's most famous play, 'The Importance of Being Earnest' - a farcical comedy which cemented his artistic reputation and is now seen as his masterpiece.

A graduate of Yale, he became a multi-millio-naire in the American insurance industry, introducing brilliant innovations within that industry. He also, unlike a few composers, found the time and the money (being a shrewd and practical businessman) to get married and have children. His accomplishments for which he is best known, however, are those in the field of music. At the time of its composition, Ives' music was probably the most radically modern in history, and by itself had enough material to serve as the foundation of modern 20th century music. For example, at the turn of the century, this eccentric composer created band works featuring multiple melodies of multiple time signatures opposing and complimenting each other within the same piece. Ives was also a revolutionary atonal composer, who created, essentially without precedent, many atonal works that not only pre-date those of Schoenberg, but are just as sophisticated, and arguably even more so, than those of the 12-tone serialist.

Whether this little volume will find sufficient patrons to defray the cost of its production is at least doubtful. The writer whose essays it contains lived in obscurity and will never be popular. But he possessed a fine intellect, however frustrated by circumstances; he belonged to an illustrious family; and it is well to let the public have access to the opinions of a brother of Cardinal Newman and of Professor Newman, a brother who took his own course, as they did, and thought out for himself an independent philosophy. All Charles Robert Newman's writings that are known to have been printed, appeared in the Reasoner, edited by Mr. George Jacob Holyoake, at various dates during 1860-61. With trifling exceptions they are all reprinted in this collection. Mr. Holyoake has kindly supplied a brief account of the atheistic Newman, and Mr. J. M. Wheeler has gathered all the information that is obtainable as to his life and personality.

In an attempt to preserve, improve and recreate the original content, we have worked towards: 1. Type-setting & Reformatting: The complete work has been re-designed via professional layout, formatting and type-setting tools to re-create the same edition with rich typography, graphics, high quality images, and table elements, giving our readers the feel of holding a 'fresh and newly' reprinted and/or revised edition, as opposed to other scanned & printed (Optical Character Recognition - OCR) reproductions. 2. Correction of imperfections: As the work was re-created from the scratch, therefore, it was vetted to rectify certain conventional norms with regard to typographical mistakes, hyphenations, punctuations, blurred images, missing content/pages, and/or other related subject matters, upon our consideration. Every attempt was made to rectify the imperfections related to omitted constructs in the original edition via other references. However, a few of such imperfections which could not be rectified due to intentionalunintentional omission of content in the original edition, were inherited and preserved from the original work to maintain the authenticity and construct, relevant to the work. Essays on the Art of Writing and Fables
ESSAYS ON THE ART OF WRITING collects seven important essays on authorship, including "On Some Technical Elements of Style" and "The Morality of the Profession of Letters," as well as Robert Louis Stevenson's accounts of writing Treasure Island and The Master of Ballantrae. Written more than a century ago, these essays are full of insight for today's readers and brimming with still-applicable wisdom for modern writers. Stevenson's collection of twenty FABLES has little to do with conventional lessons of right and wrong. His allegorical parables offer, instead, what the author called "tail foremost moralities." Stevenson slices through societal fa?ades of hypocrisy, bigotry, and stupidity with sardonic wit more akin to Monty Python than Aesop. Some of the darker tales may remind one of the works of Edgar Allan Poe or Ambrose Bierce. Odd and evocative, amusing and thought provoking, Stevenson's fables might prove more appropriate for our day and age than his own. A posthumous collection, Essays in the Art of Writing (also known as The Art of Writing and Other Essays), gathered some of Stevenson's important essays on authorship. It was first published in 1905 by Chatto and Windus. The collected Fables was also a postumous publication. Stevenson proposed a book of fables to publisher Longmans, Green and Co. in the spring of 1888, but never presented the publisher with a manuscript. After his death in 1894, the fables he had written were published by Longmans in its magazine (1895). The following year, they were included in The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde with Other Fables, a new edition of his famous 1886 novella. The fables were first published separately in 1902 by Longmans, Green and Co. in an illustrated edition with six etchings by Ethel King Martyn. Although both collections have been reprinted in several forms, this is the first time the two have been combined in a one-volume edition.
