Intentions by Oscar Wilde

First published in the year 1891, the present book ‘Intentions’ was written by Oscar Wilde. It is a collection of literary essays that present his views on art and criticism. Wilde’s aesthetic philosophy and his commentaries on art, literature, criticism, and society asserts the philosophy of ‘art for art’s sake’: art is an end in itself, and literature does not need to convey didactic lessons to be valuable.
