Mata Ahilyabai by Anil Kumar ‘Salil’

Ahilyabai was born in 1725. Her father was the Patil (headman) of Chaunri (Choli) village. His name was Mankoji Shinde. Ahilyabai had been sharp-witted since her childhood. She was quite interested in studies. Therefore, she quickly learnt the lessons in ethics, religion, politics, etc.
Ahilyabai was devoted to religion. She had tremendous faith in God. She loved to help the poor. She attained the greatest satisfaction by serving them.
