Sarvpalli Radhakrishnan by Neeraj
Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the second President of India, was a devout Hindu and a great philosopher. He was born on 5th September, 1888 in Tirutani village of Tamil Nadu. His parents, Sarvepalli Veeraswami and Sitamma were a deeply religious couple.
Radhakrishnan was the second child of his parents. He was brought up with great love and care. Sri Veeraswami was a priest who also worked as a teacher. As a result, the atmosphere of religion as well as education prevailed in the family.
Radhakrishnan obtained his primary education in Tirutani and secondary education from Bellore College. After passing the B.A. examination from Bellore College, he took admission in Madras Christian College for higher education. Madras Christian College was a reputed college during those days.
